Somebody please post some information on how to join the Andrax Team.

Also please post some tips or links to tips  , especially troubleshooting. Any info on potential issues such as conflicts with other software/system configuration would also be appreciated.

I would like to contribute. I am on my computer, connected to the internet all day long, however I use my computer intensively for work (software engineering), and I cannot afford any problems.

Thank you very much. :w00t:

Hello, Circe!!!!

Edited to make this up-to-date!

Easiest way to join our Team

Go to "Become a Member" on that web page. There you will see:

Register, Download and install.

It's that easy. Just choose a project that you prefer to crunch on. It makes no difference which project. They are *all* critical assignments. A new Cancer project should be "showing up" very, very soon.

Doesn't make any difference if you use WCG's version of the UD client or the Boinc client. I happen to like the Boinc client. So will you; especially if you have dual or quad cores. Our BOINC Team Id: 5567 (if you do use Boinc).

Circe2, welcome to the team(s). I say you should join World Community Grid. :D I'm crunching there right now and we could definitely use an extra person. What's nice about WCG is that you can also run a Linux box on there as well.

From my experience, WCG is MUCH more reliable. Downtimes are typically planned and the Grid has just given me enough problems that made me permanently switch to WCG.

Nevertheless, crunching is crunching, so whichever one you join will not hurt.

I think this thread deserves a bump. I am sure there are members of Andrax.net that want to learn how to join one of our two crunching teams.

The choice of teams is up to you.

We have a fine team over at grid.org, and a growing team at worldcommunitygrid.org. Information is in my sig. It doesn't matter which team you choose, as both are for a good cause. I have the means to crunch at both, which I am doing. You may choose to crunch at only one, or split the time between the sites. The choice is yours, but choose. :)

Crunching for cures. Cures for cancer, AIDS, and other diseases. It's a pretty good deal. Many people leave their system(s) on all the time. Most of the time, these systems are idle. Wasting CPU cycles. Well, put those cycles to work. Pick a team and make a difference. B)

Reminder for those interested. :)

Both of these teams are posting solid crunching results everyday. It's simple. You just load the program and forget about it. It handles the rest. Simple, yet effective.

Members from both teams are crunching away.

We have many members on our WCG team returning results. The same for our team at grid.org.

Yep! :o :D

The efforts of both Teams is outstanding. Hail to the Crunchers! Team Andrax at the Grid has moved past 3 Teams in just four days. Our small Team at the WCG is hanging in there, doing some rather consistent crunching. It's all good!

We are all seeking better Meds and especially, cures. If you are not crunching, please think what you can do to help us in our efforts as "Volunteer Researchers".

Its quite addictive watching the rising fortunes.

I actually contributed 9.2% of today's score.

I've got my sights set on top 1000 in the whole project too
