Maybe practicing his elocution? I mean, he has been away from Great Britain for some time now.   :icon_razz:

That's a very good and obscure word that I believe fits him well.

Nicely done JC, nicely done.

PC arrived at the shop yesterday.

Waaay over the intended build time.

A whole new OS has been announced since and new graphics cards.

I'm, once again, at least two generations behind the bleeding edge.

I hope to get it all set up and plugged in this weekend.

I don't have a powered USB3 hub, but I think I can run the electric current through one of my children if I hook them into the grid correctly.

I think the XP Sushi is long past its expiration date.  I'm no medical doctor, but my guess is that doesn't pass "the sniff test".

Nice mosheens for both deaded and Menelaus.

However, I have both of you beat for being behind the tech curve. In fact, I am so far behind on the tech curve that I fear I am a couple of laps down by now. See, I AM STILL USING THE DESKTOP PC I BUILT IN OCTOBER OF 2002.   I upgraded it in 2005, but still, check these specs out and see how jealous you are:

Lian-Li PC-60 aluminum case

MSI-6712 Motherboard

AMD Athlon 2800+ CPU

Unknown maker Geforce 4 64 mb card (I got it for $1 used at the local PC shop after my XFX 6600GT died and it turns out that I ended up NOT registering it in 2005 after all. :pinch:)

XP Home

A whopping 1 GB of Mushkin DDR2 RAM

80 GB WD HD

LITE-ON CD-RW

LITE-ON DVD-RW (this was a cheap upgrade from CompUSA right before they went under)

Floppy Drive

But truth be told, I'm posting from my second Thinkpad in 10 years (first one lasted 8.5 of those). The current one is a X230i Tablet (touch screen and pen functions) with a Core i3, 4 GB ram, Win 7 Home Premium, Onboard Intel graphics (which are much better than you would think) and I'm fairly happy with it as my go-to PC. Only problem is that it has one of those 3 cell batteries...so I am plugged in 90% of the time.

Haven't tried yet.  I know i can play newer games, so I'd imagine that JKII would not be a problem.  I'd have to locate the disc, though.

If you get STEAM you can get them all as a package, updated and everything without any hassle.  I'm play JKA right now.  Cost me $10 which was worth the price of not having to install it, install the updates and stuff.  For $19 you get ALL the jedi games, including JKA and JK2.  It's been fun playing it again.

I work for the federal government.  I don't have $10 or $19 to spare for such things. I'll install updates and patches all day long if I need to.

I can understand that.  Also, I've had Steam for almost ten years now, back to the release of Half-Life 2. :getsome:

Oh, wait.  You moved?  Did I know that?  I'm getting old.  I may have passed up GAHLOR already. Where do you live now?

Good times for me are around 1 AM PST.  When is a good time for you?

I moved to Kansas two years ago.  Wife got a new job.  I'm working for Social Security.

1 am PST is not a good time for me.  That's 3 here.

Also, I applaud you on putting your woman to work.  I'm still trying to figure out how to do that.

I haven't provided an update.

I've been reinstalling my Steam catalogue, buying more things in the Steam sale and generally enjoying a PC that turns on and doesn't crash!  Who knew that was more fun than sex?

No, I don't think so.  It sits quietly out of the way until I need it, turns on at the press of a switch, does what its told and then goes back to sleep.

Seems pretty much perfect to me.

Steam Sale next week! And nothing currently available makes my PC cry in shame.  Hooray!

BTW its astoundingly quiet, which, I believe, is all thanks to Deaded's recommendation.

I only work in Missouri.  I live in Kansas.  Go figure, buy a house in one state, work in another.  I can deal, as the schools here are good.
