This is a small but informative thread from July 2007 at the WCG.
Just follow the links on this page, especially the "Academic research is a slow business. Here's the results so far ..."
It lists White Papers from various Researchers.
From the World Community Grid
Hopefully I will be able to track done more information and White Paper links. Because Research is a "slow business", this thread here will not be brought up as often as we would like.

Thank you to the members of World Community Grid
The Genome Comparison project which included the comparative analysis of the genomes of more than 300 organisms has resulted in a unique database, and the research community and the researchers at Fiocruz are grateful for the processing time donated to the Genome Comparison project. We thank you!
We have now published a paper describing the database of results http://bioinformatic...t/full/26/5/705 . The database itself can be accessed at http://www.proteinworlddb.org , and is providing valuable information to scientists around the world who are studying genes and their evolution, and how they relate to life and disease processes, offering precious clues about the predicted function of genes, and the evolution of metabolic pathways. Several of such pathways, and also many hypothetical proteins are being studied for the first time. As such, the database should accelerate research of all kinds and hopefully lead to benefits to mankind in the process.
Thank you to World Community Grid and its members for making this possible!
