Ever wonder what's inside a video projector?

Here's the light path and the bulb.

Lens is in the upper right, the metal box just behind the lens is the prism. The modules with the orange cables coming out the top are the LCD elements.

Filters just before the LCD modules only pass the 3 primary colors of visible light-Red, Green, Blue. The light passes thru the LCD elements which turn on or off the color pixels. The prism combines the three colors and sends the light beam thru the lens onto the screen

The cover for the light box and all the electronics are removed.

and you are stripping the projector because ....?
"It is the job of the judges to ensure that the government of the day does not exceed its powers, which is a permanent desire of all governments." Lord Donaldson of Lymington

Brigadier: Naturally enough, the only country that could be trusted with such a role was Great Britain.
The Doctor: Naturally. I mean, the rest were all foreigners.

Nah, it was busted. That was the one with the smoked power supply I posted a few months ago. I discovered the mechnicals are mounted onto several nice cast aluminimu blocks and decided to recover the metals. Gotta replenish the party fund at work

Anyone have a DLP projector they want me to examine???
