What happened to rechargeable optical mice?

I have the MX700 at work and the MX1000 at home.
I go to buy a friend a wireless keyboard/mouse combo and there aren't rechargeable mice to be had until you get the Bluetooth ones which are actually quite expensive.
What's going on with that?

I'm glad my mouse isn't rechargeable. It lasts months on a pair of AA's, whereas every rechargeable I've seen needs juice at least once a week.
I love the copper. I love the aluminum. I love metal and silicon working together for the betterment of computing.

i just stick it in the holster overnight and have done with it.

Yeah, I love it. Keeps my palm from getting too sweaty, and it's just damn sexy.

Aah, I wimped out and bought an MX3200 bundle with the MX600 mouse.
