Don't mind me... apparently thats what you get when you're trying to do 4 different things at once and trying to unpack and sync your iPod for the first time.

As the instructions point out, recommended to eject the ipod via iTunes before disconnecting.

Still, i'll hold true to my offense and insult at the fact that the itunes package is inseperable from quicktime. DAMN YOU STEVE JOBS. DAMN YOU!!!!

Funny, I had the opposite trouble. Brother sent me a QT movie link, couldn't watch it. Wanted to download QT to see it, turns out it was coupled with the whole iTunes package. Baaaa.

QT is available not bundled with itunes. QuickTime is available as a separate download. Click the bottom "QT7.1.3 for windows" link. The one without itunes. (or you cen use QTalternative ) It probably won't work with itunes though...

To disable RTSP URLs in QuickTime for Windows, open the QuickTime control panel. Then, select the File Types tab. Expand the Streaming category and make sure the RTSP stream descriptor is unchecked.

Andrax, go to this cool freeware site econsultant.com and scroll just a little down the page and look at YamiPod. I'dl'd and will install soon.

Oops, nevermind. I don't think it can replace iTunes.

Mine was unchecked as well.
I need to check the mini when I get home. I'm relatively confident that it is unchecked as well.

There is some opensource stuff, but I'm not sure it's ported to Windows yet...

I've used it for quite a while now... since I got my 4G ipod. Works great for me. I've never even had iTunes installed before.

I hated iTunes since the 1st time i installed it 2 years ago. It slowed my boot time down considerably.
Plus, i hear the new versions aren't playing nice.
